RFGC farmers markets are Mississippi Department of Agriculture Certified Farmers Markets and participate in the USDA Farmers Market Nutrition Program. * **

*The MDAC Certified Farmers Markets Program certifies markets that have two vendors growing and selling Mississippi produce at the market at the time of the annual certification in the Spring.  Under the MDAC program,  up to 50% of what the vendor sells may also consist of out-of-season trucked-in produce.  MDAC encourages participating markets to set their own rules and standards of what additional items may be sold at the individual markets.  For a listing of MDAC Certified Farmers Markets see www.mdac.state.ms.us.

*RFGC farmers markets feature REAL farmers selling local produce, meats, dairy, other food and food-related products, and plants.  RFGC does not allow the sale of out of season, trucked-in produce or other nonfood or nonfood-related items because RFGC’s purpose and mission is to support REAL FARMERS who produce REAL FOOD.

** RFGC farmers markets participate in the USDA Farmers Market Nutrition Program.  The USDA FMNP provides vouchers for income-eligible seniors to use to purchase vendor-grown produce only at participating markets.

RFGC news!

In January, we will be releasing our first in a series farmers market cookbook, called “REAL FOOD: VEGETABLES.”  This small cook book will feature simple, delicious recipes with ingredients found at our markets.  The cookbook will also feature valuable information regarding culture, storage and handling, and selection of the selected vegetables.

Our first Long Beach Farmers Market Radish Festival was a HUGE success and we are looking forward to next year!  Check out some of our festival photos here:  Radish Festival Photos.
